Established in 2013, Saltire Steel is a steel band based in Central Scotland.

Workshops

Fancy giving it a try? 

Workshops are taught by Saltire Steel's musical lead, Maureen Howitt who holds a Bachelor in Music Education and Percussive Arts from University of Florida and 17 years teaching experience.

No prior musical experience nessesary. Suitable for all ages 12+

Steel Pan Taster

2 Hour Introduction

A unique and informal introduction to steel pan.
The fun and interactive workshop includes an overview of the history of the steel pan instruments, an opportunity to try different pans and you'll learn to play a tune.

Workshop Block

5 Session Block

Taught at our central Scotland base in Alloa, individuals can book a block of 5 x 2 hour monthly sessions. Learn a selection of tunes and complete the block with an informal performance for family and friends at the last session.
